Alis is a singer/songwriter and actress from a small sea side village called Pembrey in Carmarthenshire. She moved to London in 2014 to pursue a career in acting and fell in love with music along the way.
“Lyrics, lyrics, lyrics. There is nothing I love more than a clever lyric, and a song which tells a story, which is what I aim for when I write. I have always loved music. From the legendary jazz of Ella Fitzgerald, to the wordsmith himself Eminem, music has had an impact on my life.
“I began playing piano obsessively during my late teens, and also play the electric ukulele. I often play with a loop pedal as I love a good harmony. I began gigging regularly in 2017, playing in places such as Notting Hill Arts Club, The Finborough Arms, Dingwalls Lock 17 and the legendary ‘Troubadour’. Music feels as natural to me as breakfast. I have been writing my own songs for a few years and released an EP last year called “Hercules”. I aspire to be clever and never dull. As long as words are things, I shall continue combining them.”
